DIY BEAUTY HACK: SUGARING

Welcome! As you all know we are in a time where money might be scarce but if you are like me, beauty and skincare are still on the agenda by any means necessary. Let’s talk about sugaring. For me getting a wax monthly is something that I enjoy doing and being on lockdown I had to come up with an alternative. Sugaring is a natural hair removal method that is an alternative for the traditional waxing to remove hair completely. Like waxing the hair is removed from the root and can last up to 2 weeks before new hair growth reemerges. The Sugaring paste is a simple mix of lemon, water, and sugar. It is melted at low to medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes until it resembles honey. The mixture is available for use once cooled. It can be used just like waxing where you apply the sugar on your skin and hair using a fabric strip.

If you are looking for a cheap alternative for waxing, sugaring will do. It is easy to make and sugar is water-soluble, which makes it easy to clean off any residue left on the skin. Unlike wax which is not water-soluble and needs an oil-based remover to get rid of residue left on the skin. Sugaring is gentle on the skin and can be applied over large areas without fear of irritation. Before sugaring it is advised to exfoliate the skin with a preferred scrub of choice 1-2 days before applying the paste to your skin.

Thank you guys for reading and I’ll see you in the next post.
